Beth Van-Stranders | Health Sciences | University of Southampton
“I didn’t really know what to expect starting my nursing degree. I’d worked in a hospital before so thought I knew what nurses do and what the career was about. Actually after starting my training it has been more than I ever could have imagined.” In the future Beth is interested in travelling. She chose Child and Adult nursing because she knows that whatever country she finds herself in she would never be restricted.

I think it will help me if I want to work in A&E or travel abroad.” When she qualifies Sarah is interested in gaining core skills such as IV training and cannulas before going on to become a flight nurse.

People I’m fron Hong Kong, and please do this degree, unless if you truly value this profession Before disliking this comment, please note that IM ALAO STUDYING PHYSIOTHERAPY, but I’m here for the value of our work and not that little prestige you little Indian kids want. I heard a lot of times when physiotherapist from India wants the “Dr” prefix, and why does that matter to you a lot? You need to use your action to prove that you have some value, hence gaining respect from others. If you keep on using the prefix doctor, more doctor will hate us, and not value our work. We need to work together, not better than one another Physiotherapy is not for you if all you want is that little “Dr.”thing and a stethoscope, go and get your mind fixed.

Look at the nhs website, it can range from £21,000 to £30,000 annually. You earn more as you gain more experience and if you’re specialised/ with more skills. It all depends on your location as well.

You actually dont need a degree to be an eeg technician you just need a certificate. Or a medical office will train you but a degree im health science will give you a boost in getting hired. They make it seem like health science degree = health care job but this is necessarily not the case, you will need additional education to get into healthcare career like if you wanna be a nurse youll need an additional nursing degree.
